GlobalChristians.org is a ministry of Cybermissions which trains and equips those involved in indigenous missions (see logo at left).
We train and equip the new missionaries and mission agencies that are arising in the developing world. We also train indigenous pastors, lay leaders and other Great Commission Christians.Globalchristians.org— supplies a wide variety of online training including articles, ebooks, short courses and the two-year Harvestime bible-college course that can be downloaded and run in any local church (the only textbook needed is a bible). The Harvestime course focuses on using Jesus’ training methods to equip Christians to become evangelists and church-planters. It is available in six languages and runs in over 100 countries of the world.
Cybermissions.org - provides training in Internet evangelism, and cyber-ministry. A whole section is dedicated to the setting up of Internet cafes in developing nations. There are also short courses on Internet evangelism and articles on cyber-ministry.
BiblicalEQ.com - provides emotional intelligence training and leadership training focused on Christ-like character development. A book, workbook and seminars are available. We also train and certify Biblical EQ facilitators.
NewTestamentPrayer.com—provides training on prayer and on spiritual ministry. Courses on prayer, audio prayers, affirmations and many articles and ebooks on prayer are available for free download.
Eternity Christian.com—provides an independent denominational covering for those graduates of our courses who may require it, or for house-churches and independent churches who may wish to have a U.S. based denominational umbrella. Applicants must be known to Cybermissions, be of good Christian character, and be in agreement with our constitution and statement of faith. It also is a local church in southern California.
Radio Ministry
Cybermissions also uses satellite radio and small FM transmitters to broadcast the gospel into ‘closed countries’ where Western missionaries are unable to enter.
ABOUT US
Cybermissions is run by John Edmiston who has been in digital ministry since 1991 and who is a member of the World Evangelical Alliance Missions Commission, on the executive of the Internet Evangelism Coalition and who is an adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary. John Edmiston is an Australian who has lived as a missionary in Papua New Guinea and the Philippines. Cybermissions is a network of volunteers and part-time staff in many nations, many of whom are highly qualified in various aspects of computer ministry. We tend to be evangelical/charismatic in theological orientation but willingly partner with all bible-believing, born-again Christians.
WHY TECHNOLOGY?
As good stewards of the grace of God we need to make sure that our time, talent and treasure are put to good use. If I prepare a bible study for a group on Friday evening it only takes a few more minutes to upload it to the Internet—where it will be available for years—and where thousands may read it. Thus, as a bible teacher, using the Internet makes a LOT of good sense. That is good stewardship of talent. At the moment we are reaching about 1.8 million people per annum on a budget of just $35,000! That is about two cents per life impacted in some way. That is good stewardship of treasure. And the Internet reaches people even when I am asleep or when I am travelling—and that is good stewardship of time. Of course it is God who gives the results and the power belongs only to the Name of Jesus!
I would like to invite you to join us in this wonderful gospel outreach. We are looking for project donors, prayer partners, and for folks to give $20, $40, $60 or even $80 a month on a regular basis. You will be surprised at what God will do through you as you pray, give and go with Cybermissions!
Blessings,
John Edmiston
